EpiPaws was founded by, Dr. Andria Beal, PhD, a passionate animal lover that happened to also be passionate about science and epigenetics. Dr. Beal's research during her PhD was focused on developing new tools for conservation biologists to use. She developed an age estimation test for dolphins and studied the effects of environmental disturbances on sharks and their epigenetic marks. When she realized no one was pioneering epigenetic biomarkers for pet health, she couln't sleep at night thinking that our pet's wouldn't get to have the benfits that epigenetics brings to the health space.
